For The Babies:
The video below was part of the last portion of the our Sunday School Program on December 18 (the rest of our program--the first portion--can be found here:http://creteucc.org/ministries/christian-education/sunday-school.html ). Take a look at this video though: 73 babies, ranging in current age from 1 week to 95+.
Quick Notes:
Welcome! to the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Crete, Nebraska. We are pleased that you have decided to check us out. There are some resources on the ministries page you might like to check out. There are many ways to get involved, or just observe some time to be still and receive. Also, stop by the sanctuary some time.
Our church, founded in 1871, has a long tradition of outreach and service to its members and the community. We hope you will join us for service on Sunday to experience for yourself a time of sabbath in the fellowship of Christ. We strive always to be a church that works to extend the reach of Christ in our community. Our effort to do that can be seen in our events that are open to the public, our local and wider missions, and the involvement of our members in many parts of our community. Join us as we work to extend Christ's reach!
This has happened at 1st Congregational: Justin Roberts, 2011! Once again the "house was rockin'" as Justin Roberts performed his Bible-based songs in our 10:30 church service on October 16, and his more secular material for a crowd of youngsters and the young-at-heart at a 1 p.m. show that day. Watch for updates to the Justin Roberts, 2011 page (under "Events"), as we hope to get some photos up soon.
World Communion Sunday World Communion Sunday took place in our sanctuary on October 2. Our friends from the Methodist Church joined with us, and Rev. Karla Cooper (Lincoln A.M.E. pastor and Doane College chaplain) provided the sermon. A potluck lunch followed.
BackPack Fun Run! Took place on Saturday, September 24th. Lots of fun was had by those running, eating, and raising money for a great cause!
Vacation Bible School 2011! Dozens of kids from our church and throughout the community attended an "Outdoor Adventure" Bible School the last week of July. They hiked, explored, and played in God's nature while at the Crete Youth Cabin south of town. *************************************
